Transport Desgagnés inc. (TDI), a GDI-owned subsidiary, is the company that owns all of the conglomerate’s fleet of vessels, with the exception of crude oil transport vessels which it manages without owning ownership.

 

TDI’s mission is to manage, equip and operate these vessels to charter them to its internal customers, the business divisions of sister companies, to meet their business needs.

 

TDI therefore does not ensure their marketing outside the conglomerate, since this mission is fulfilled by various sister companies, depending on the different business niches concerned (Petro-Nav inc.: Liquid bulk; Desgagnés Transarctik inc. .: general cargo, heavy lift and cargo for special projects in the Arctic; Navigation Desgagnés inc.: solid bulk, general cargo, heavy cargo and cargo for special projects at the national level (except in the Arctic) and internationally ; Relais Nordik inc .: passengers and general goods for the maritime service of Anticosti Island and the Lower North Shore).

The Analyst – Purchasing and Logistics reports to the Director – Purchasing and Logistics at Transport Desgagnés inc. In close collaboration with the Director – Purchasing and Logistics, he manages / actively participates in targeted continuous improvement projects, all aimed at constantly improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Company’s supply chain management.

Required Skills

  • An undergraduate university degree in supply management, operations management, or other related discipline;
  • At least 5 years of relevant procurement experience or equivalent professional experience;
  • Understanding and practical experience of various continuous improvement techniques (Six Sigma; Lean-Six Sigma; Kaizen, etc.) acquired mainly through projects leading to the implementation and / or improvement of purchasing processes, working procedures;
  • work organization; and information tools / media;
  • Active participation in the implementation / upgrade of the purchasing module of an integrated management software package;
  • Demonstrated skills in the manipulation and analysis of operational and financial data relating to a supply chain using the usual tools of the MS Office suite;
  • Fluency in French and English, both oral and written;
  • Holder of the title of professional supplier (a.p.a.) is an asset;
  • Knowledge of the maritime transport industry is an asset.
