Relais Nordik inc. (RNI) provides maritime service for passengers (residents and tourists) and goods traveling on the Middle and Lower North Shore of Quebec, as well as on Anticosti Island. This subsidiary has developed over the years excellent business relationships with local customers as well as with the various administrative units, both municipal and government, involved in the administration of contracts and the regulation of maritime transport. The sustainability of the transport service offered by RNI depends on the latter’s favorable positioning during calls for tenders from the Quebec Ministry of Transport. To date, it is in large part the quality of service offered by RNI that has allowed it to differentiate itself from the competition and to obtain the contracts that have ensured its development.
As subsidiary manager, the CEO of Relais Nordik inc. (RNI) reports to the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Groupe Desgagnés inc. His main responsibility is the management of all RNI activities in order to meet the operational, commercial and financial needs of the service to Anticosti Island and the Lower North Shore. This responsibility which is assumed with, if necessary, the support of the staff of GDI and Transport Desgagnés inc. (TDI), includes the quality and efficiency of services, the safety of ships, passengers, cargo, personnel, meeting applicable environmental standards, human resources management, purchasing and logistics management, financial and administrative management, management of all components related to passenger and cargo services, management of information systems, incident management, applicable certification and approval of vessels, both preventive and corrective maintenance of vessels and various equipment and machinery, management of terminals and warehouses, management of contractual obligations and compliance with all the laws, regulations and standards applicable to maritime transport of cargo and passengers. In addition, he is responsible for the development and marketing of the service offered by RNI, taking into account its mission, its strategic plan and the objectives to be achieved, both in terms of safety and at the operational and financial levels. .
He is responsible for public relations and communications, relations with customers, communities and various socio-economic organizations in the area and the various levels of government.
At the head of the only subsidiary of Desgagnés whose vocation is the transport of people and the service of localities entirely dependent on this unique service, he has the mandate to ensure that RNI operates according to the highest standards of the industry and just like what characterizes Desgagnés.
