Job description

DESGAGNÉS MARINE PETRO INC. is recruiting Chief Officers for its tanker fleet vessels trading on the Great Lakes, in Eastern Canada and in the Canadian Arctic.

The Chief officer reports directly to the Captain. He is responsible, among other things, for the ship’s cargo operations (loading/unloading) as well as for ballasting and deballasting the ship (stability).

Required Skills

  • Chief Mate Certificate of Competency or higher (STCW)
  • Certificate of Proficiency in Advanced Training for Oil Tanker Cargo Operations (STCW)
  • ECDIS Training
  • Bridge Resources Management Training
  • Ship-handling Training
  • Valid Marine Medical Certificat
  • Certificate of Competency in Marine Emergency Duties (STCW)
  • Marine Advanced First Aid certificate
  • Five (5) to eight (8) of experience as a 2nd Deck Officier or 3rd Deck Officier on oil/chemical tanker vessels
  • Proficiency in English (Working Language)
