Job description

The heavy duty mechanic performs servicing, maintenance, repair of heavy machinery, transportation equipment and cranes. He reports to the Mechanical Foreman of Labrador City, NL and may be called upon to travel on site. He works with tools and equipment that are at the cutting edge of technology.

Required Skills

  • Professional studies diploma (DEP) in construction machinery mechanics or other relevant training (ASP)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction machinery / cranes mechanics
  • Very good knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electricity and IT
  • Knowledge of electronics, understanding of diagrams, reading of plans (asset)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Bilingual or unilingual anglophone seen the position in Labrador in an anglophone team
  • Ability to adapt and be open to many technological changes
  • Possibility of FIFO (Fly in / Fly out)
  • Schedule 12/21 (21 working days / 12 “off” days)
  • French speaking supervision at the mechanical level
