Transport Desgagnés inc. (TDI), a GDI-owned subsidiary, is the company that owns all of the conglomerate’s fleet of vessels, with the exception of crude oil transport vessels which it manages without owning ownership.TDI’s mission is to manage, equip and operate these vessels to charter them to its internal customers, the business divisions of sister companies, to meet their business needs.
Job description
The Technical Secretary reports to the Director – Operations of Transport Desgagnés inc. His main responsibility is to keep all technical / regulatory documentation up to date on land and on board all vessels in the Fleet. He is also responsible for keeping up to date and making available the drawings, plans and specifications specific to each of the Fleet’s vessels. Finally, he prepares the weekly / monthly reports as well as the Operations dashboard. On a daily basis, he works in close collaboration with the Superintendents – Ships as well as the Captains and Chief Engineers aboard Fleet ships.
Required Skills
- College diploma (DEC) in administration
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in a similar role, ideally obtained in the field of air / sea / land transport or in heavy industry
- Experience in the field of maritime transport is an asset
- Bilingual (spoken and written)
- Mastery of Microsoft Office suite software and knowledge of databases
