Job description
The truck driver – class 3 reports to the warehouse manager. He holds a permanent position with the Relais Nordik Inc. business unit at the Sept-Îles terminal. The operation of the “roll off” type truck consists of transporting containers from the warehouse to the wharf, according to the schedules of the Bella Desgagnés ship, and from the wharf to the warehouse for goods returning from the Lower North Shore for the customers.
Main responsibilities
- Transport containers between the warehouse and the dock before and after loading/unloading ships;
- Assist in the loading of ships if necessary or participate in its smooth running;
- Carry out any other container transport necessary for the company’s operations;
- Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of the roll-off type truck;
- Perform the delivery of goods received from the ship according to the requirements of the company;
- Perform any other work related to the operation of the company at the request of his supervisor or the director.
Required Skills
- Hold a college diploma (DEC) or secondary (general) (DES) – an asset
- A minimum of one year of experience in a similar position – an asset
- Class 3 driving license
- Dangerous goods transport certificate – an asset
- Experience on a “roll off” truck – an asset
- Knowledge of French – working langage
- Ability to work in a team, interpersonal skills, rigor and good physical condition
