Job description

The Vice-President – Charter reports to the President and CEO of PNI. His main responsibilities are to participate in the growth and development of PNI’s business, to supervise and coordinate the management of client files, to ensure the management of vessel charter, to collaborate in the optimization of commercial operations as well as to assume the responsibilities incumbent on it in terms of administrative management and the environment, human resources and occupational health and safety.


More particularly, its main objectives are to ensure the optimal use of the fleet of tankers marketed by PNI, to facilitate the greatest possible number of synergies between the various customers, to maintain and develop an extensive network of contacts in link with PNI’s business, while ensuring that all the services offered by PNI meet the high standards of customer satisfaction. He is also responsible for negotiating charter contracts and securing the best possible terms and conditions.

Required Skills

  • BAC completed in a discipline related to the maritime field or the equivalent;
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the field of chartering on behalf of shipowners or charterers;
  • Extensive knowledge of charter principles and practices, charter contracts and market information in the field of maritime transport;
  • Superior negotiation skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills;
  • High capacity to manage many projects in parallel in a dynamic environment that requires being proactive in properly using all available resources;
  • Innate sense of responsibility, commitment and professionalism;
  • Sense of organization and work planning, as well as meeting deadlines;
  • Fluency in French and English, both oral and written;
  • MS Office software.
