As HR Partner – Crew Management, you’ll be at the heart of the marine operations of Transport Desgagnés, a leader in marine transportation in Canada.
Your role
Your role will be to support and advise the crew management team in the development, implementation and application of HR policies and programs dedicated to seafarers’ crews. You will ensure effective and strategic crew management by coordinating recruitment, labor relations management and skills development, while ensuring compliance with collective agreements, regulatory requirements and current internal requirements.
As a key HR partner, you’ll work closely with shore and sea managers, unions and other partners to optimize Crew Management operations. Your role will require the ability to balance administration, human relations and planning.
You will also be responsible for advising and supporting the crew management team in defining, implementing and monitoring HR strategies specific to marine personnel.
What we are looking for
We are looking for an HR Partner – Crew Management with solid experience in human resources management, gained in a unionized environment and preferably in a regulated and complex environment.
Experience in international recruitment will be essential, as you’ll be managing the temporary import of vessels and coordinating the hiring of foreign sailors.
This strategic role requires rigor, autonomy and excellent organizational skills, in order to effectively manage the many issues related to seafarers’ crews
Specifically, the HR Partner-Crew Management’s main responsibilities are to:
Administrative management and compliance
Temporary import of vessels
Labor relations and collective agreements
Staffing and human resources planning
Skills development and performance management
Other HR and general administration responsibilities
