Job description

Desgagnés Logistik Inc., a subsidiary of Groupe Desgagnés, specializes in mooring and terminal operations in Valleyfield. Offering innovative and competitive handling services, it plays a key role in the development of the port and the community by ensuring efficient and secure logistics operations.

 

As part of its activities, we are looking for a Lifting Equipment Agent to ensure the effective management of lifting and handling operations.

 

Your Mission

 

In collaboration with the teams on the ground, you will ensure the smooth execution of loading and unloading operations by overseeing the compliance and maintenance of lifting equipment. You will be responsible for inspections, file archiving, and making the equipment available to guarantee smooth and secure operations. In collaboration with our strategic partners, your role will be essential in optimizing the efficiency of operations and ensuring their smooth execution.

What We Are Looking For

 

We are looking for a person who is thorough, organized, and capable of managing priorities professionally. Experience in logistics, transportation, or the industrial sector is a significant asset. Bilingualism (French/English) and good proficiency with computer tools are also required.

 

Specifically, the Lifting Equipment Agent’s main responsibilities are to:

 

        • Ensure the management of lifting operations in collaboration with the equipment manager, operations director, and superintendents to guarantee the effectiveness of loading and unloading
        • Conduct sling inspections in accordance with the ASME B-30.9 standard and follow up on the lifting accessory inspection program as per applicable standards
        • Complete and keep up to date the inspection and maintenance records of lifting equipment as well as inventory
        • Proceed with archiving files once inspections and maintenance have been carried out
        • Classify and organize information to ensure quick and efficient access for key users
        • Provide lifting equipment in a timely manner to the different loading and unloading teams of ships
        • Perform any other related tasks linked to logistics operations and lifting equipment management

 

Working conditions

 

        • Permanent seasonal position, day shift (March to December)
        • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Required Skills

        • High school diploma
        • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
        • Proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written
        • Relevant experience in the industrial, transportation, or logistics sectors is a significant asset

        • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
