Job description
The Health and Safety Advisor reports to the Branch Manager of Boreal Cranes Inc. and works closely with the Senior Health and Safety Advisor of Groupe Desgagnés. He plays a key role in positioning health and safety as a core value within Boreal Cranes so that accident prevention and risk management are an integral part of its culture and an ongoing priority. .
The primary objective of the position is to act as a coach and change agent in the establishment of a culture of responsibility, involvement and employee commitment to health and safety.
The health and safety advisor also supports Tessier Ltée, a sister company of Grues Boréales, as a safety expert. Consequently, he may be called upon from time to time by Tessier Ltée for advice and recommendations, as well as actions in all matters related to health and safety policies, programs, procedures and systems. He must therefore know Quebec laws and regulations.
Required Skills
- College diploma in health and safety or equivalent
3 to 5 years of experience as a health and safety advisor - Experience in industry and construction
- Excellent knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and regulations
- Perfectly bilingual (French and English) orally and in writing
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite software
- Member of the Canadian Council of Certified Safety Professionals (CSP), an asset
- NLCSA Construction Safety Officer Designation (CSO) member an asset
- Hold an ASP construction card from Quebec, an asset
