Job description

As HR Partner – Talent Attraction, I’m looking for our next HR Advisor – Talent Attraction for our head office in Quebec City. If you’re passionate about recruiting and enjoy a challenge, we look forward to welcoming you to our dynamic and friendly team.

At Desgagnés, we’re proud of our land and sea operations, and we need you to help us attract and recruit the best talent. You’ll be at the heart of our recruitment process, from opening positions to integrating new employees, to selecting and negotiating terms and conditions of employment. With a global workforce of 1300 employees, including 800 sailors, your role will be essential in supporting our growth.

We’re looking for someone who is rigorous, organized and proactive, capable of multi-tasking and managing a high volume of assignments. Your 5 to 7 years’ experience in recruitment, ideally in the manufacturing, industrial or transportation sector, as well as a bachelor’s degree in human resources or industrial relations, will be valuable assets.

More specifically, the HR-Talent Attraction Advisor’s main responsibilities are to:

 

              • Monitor the job market in general and the maritime sector in particular to identify trends;
              • Propose innovative recruitment and attraction methods;
              • Represent Desgagnés in a positive and respectful manner to job seekers;
              • Act as an ambassador for Desgagnés, ensuring fair treatment of candidates;
              • Ensure efficient, respectful and rapid selection processes;
              • Manage recruitment files for shore-based positions;
              • Participate in the definition and description of positions to be filled;
              • Advise managers in the preparation of job applications;
              • Determine the most effective recruitment methods;
              • Identify selection criteria and choose appropriate selection methods;
              • Participate in the candidate selection process;
              • Coordinate medical, psychometric and reference tests, as required;
              • Make recommendations on compensation and conditions of employment;
              • Negotiate terms and conditions of employment with candidates;
              • Ensure effective induction and integration of new employees;
              • Provide support in various HR areas (salary surveys, equity programs, training, disciplinary management, performance management, policy development).

Required Skills

              • Completed 1st or 2nd cycle university degree in a discipline related to human resources management or industrial relations
              • Member of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés (CRIA and CRHA) (asset)
              • Minimum 5 to 7 years’ relevant experience in recruitment and selection, ideally acquired in the industrial or manufacturing sector, or in the maritime, rail or air transport sector
              • Strong sense of responsibility, commitment and professionalism
              • Superior sales skills
              • Sound judgment
              • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
              • Excellent command of spoken and written French and English
              • Proficiency in MS Office suite software; experience working in a SharePoint environment (asset)
