Job description

Do you want to play a key role at the heart of a growing company?

At Desgagnés Logistik inc. (DLI), our sustained development and continuous expansion create a stimulating environment where human resources are more than ever a strategic lever.

As an HR Partner, you will help structure this growth, support our teams, and drive our human and organizational ambitions.

What Awaits You

In this strategic role, you will have a direct impact on the entire employee lifecycle. You will support management and supervisors in workforce planning, staffing, onboarding and integration, while deploying attraction strategies tailored to our operational realities.

You will contribute to skills development by identifying training needs, implementing development programs, and ensuring follow-up of performance evaluation processes.

You will also be at the heart of labour relations: committee participation, support for managers in disciplinary matters, application of policies and collective agreements, internal communications and maintaining a healthy work environment.

Administratively, you will help manage compensation, benefits, pay equity and all employee files—from hiring to end of employment. You will lead or support HR programs aligned with business objectives and follow up on HR budgets under your responsibility.

What We Expect From You

We are looking for a complete HR partner: structured, pragmatic and solution-oriented. You possess a university degree in HR or industrial relations, combined with several years of generalist HR experience, ideally in an industrial, manufacturing or transportation environment.

You are comfortable working in a multitasking environment where priorities shift quickly. You excel in relationships with managers, as well as communication with employees and union partners.

You stand out through sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to manage urgencies, sensitive issues and deadlines. Rigorous and methodical, you know how to maintain the quality and consistency of HR processes while staying accessible, human and engaging.

Finally, you embody Desgagnés’ core values: integrity, transparency, respect, commitment and pride in a job well done.

Specifically, the main responsibilities are to:

Staffing and Workforce Management

        • Identify staffing needs and coordinate recruitment with managers.
        • Ensure a proper onboarding and integration process.
        • Develop or adapt attraction, selection and hiring tools.
        • Maintain up-to-date workforce planning and anticipate staffing movements.
        • Ensure employees have the required training and skills.
        • Maintain an active network for short- and mid-term talent attraction (job fairs, events, etc.).

Skills Development and Performance Management

        • Identify training needs with managers.
        • Develop and coordinate the annual training plan.
        • Deploy and monitor training, development and evaluation programs.
        • Document training activities in employee files.
        • Support the performance evaluation process and improvement plans.

Labour Relations and Communication

        • Lead labour relations committees and manage related files.
        • Advise managers on disciplinary matters and ensure consistent application of policies.
        • Collaborate on the application of collective agreements and internal policies.
        • Maintain effective communication with employees, managers and union partners.
        • Be present in the workplace to identify and address sources of dissatisfaction.
        • Support the dissemination of HR policies and processes.

HR Administration and Strategic Support

        • Contribute to the development, implementation and application of HR policies and programs.
        • Track HR performance indicators.
        • Participate in compensation, benefits and retention program evaluations.
        • Manage compensation and benefits according to policies and collective agreements.
        • Help monitor pay equity.
        • Manage employee files from hiring to departure (contracts, benefits, etc.).
        • Track budgets related to HR activities.

Working conditions

        • Permanent position
        • A schedule of 40 hours per week
        • Comprehensive group insurance program (including dental insurance)
        • Registered Retirement Savings Plan (with employer contribution)
        • Employee assistance program and telemedicine
        • Monthly wellness allowance
        • Annual vacation
        • Floating vacations, sick leave and statutory holidays

Required Skills

        • Completed undergraduate or graduate university degree in a discipline related to human resources management or industrial relations
        • Membership in the Order of Certified Human Resources Professionals (CRHA/CRIA) is considered an asset
        • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a generalist HR role within the industrial, manufacturing, or maritime/rail/air transportation sectors
